Board Members

Tami Co-Chair

Tami grew up in Kamloops, moved away for a few years, and then came back. She has been a self-advocate for a long time. People often told her she couldn’t do certain things, but she has shown them that she can! Tami loves to travel, read, watch movies, and enjoy sports like hockey, football, and wrestling. She also likes listening to music, painting, and crafting.

Being part of the SUSA group has been a highlight for Tami because she can help create opportunities for people to get the support they need to reach their goals. She has even presented at City Hall, events, and conferences. Tami’s goals are to have control over all areas of her life and to keep improving her skills so that one day she can sell her paintings and crafts.

Tony Co-Chair

Tony was born in Kitimat, BC, and moved to Kamloops in his teens. He grew up in the Italian community and loves Italian food! Tony enjoys being a self-advocate and staying active in the community. In 2006, he even joined a group to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. Connecting with others is very important to Tony.

Tony’s interests include learning to use the computer, collecting movies, and collecting model cars. A highlight of being part of the SUSA group for Tony is creating the Buddy Up for Friendship program, which helps people connect and make friends. He also enjoys giving presentations. Tony’s goals are to have his own pet and one day become a full-time public speaker.

Andrew Secretary

Andrew was born and raised in Kamloops and has been the SUSA Secretary since 2016. He loves watching sports, especially hockey, baseball, and football, and he’s a big fan of the Kamloops Blazers. A highlight of being part of the SUSA group for Andrew is helping to create opportunities for people to learn about their rights and being part of the Rights Presentations. Andrew’s goals include volunteering at CFBX-FM Radio (92.5 The X) and creating his own YouTube channel.

Vicki Treasurer

Vicki has been part of the SUSA Society since 2015. She enjoys baking, sewing, and quilting. A highlight of being part of the SUSA group for Vicki is helping to create opportunities for people to get information and being part of the Connections Project.
